Department of Information Technology

The Department of Information Technology is one of the best departments of University College of Engineering, Kariavattom that started functioning in 2000.From the beginning itself, the departments has been rayed very high in academic circles. The graduates from this department include many technocrats, researchers and academicians, IRS Officer, IPS Officer etc. The department is honored to have well qualified and experienced faculty and most students of this department get placement in leading industries or organizations. The faculty of the department consists of 11 Assistant Professors and one Tradesman/Lab Assistant. At present more than 100 students are studying in this department and thirteen batches of students passed out form this branch bringing academic excellence to the institution. IT Department students are honored with university examinations first ranks in the year 2004 and 2015.

The department has been taking initiative for the preparation and revision of scheme and syllabus for the B.Tech degree courses. Most of the students are getting placements and internship opportunities in reputed companies. Many of our alumni have reached positions of eminence in academic and research institutions, industries, business and also as entrepreneurs.We are working with an objective to contribute our part to develop India as a Super Power in the area Information Technology by imparting knowledge of an international standard to young Engineers and Computer Scientists.
