Quality Enhancement in Engineering Education (QEEE)

Quality Enhancement in Engineering Education(QEEE) program conducted by IIT Madras is a real time and synchronous technology integration of superior external scholastic inputs into current pedagogical practices. One of the important concern area of the program is to deliver well developed content by the IIT faculty to the students of engineering colleges.

The main goal of the program is to utilize high quality pedagogical resources to enhance learning in a wider student community. It aims in the integration of top quality resources in the form of instructors and multimedia resources into followed curriculum and methods of teaching. The modules for the programme include Live classes, Tutorials, MOOCs and Bridge Courses. It provides two-way interactions between the course instructor and students/ local faculty. There are four modules in this program viz. Live Class, Course pack, Live Labs, Bridge Program:



(i) Live Class:

IIT faculty deliver live lecture classes to participating colleges. The schedule of lectures are sent to colleges priorly and notifications are provided before start of each session.


(ii) Course pack:

A supplement study material with lecture notes, live class videos, discussion forums, assessment and evaluation tools to serve as a reference material for QEEE courses.


(iii) Live Labs:

To provide virtual hands-on experience to students on experiments undertaken remotely. It creates an opportunity to work on a real lab experiment tailored to suit their syllabus and curriculum.


(iv) Bridge Programs:

To bridge the gap between the initial skills of individuals and what they need to enter and succeed in postsecondary education and career-path employment. Students from various departments opt their respective courses under the guidance of Local faculties.



The Evaluation components are given below:

(a) Quiz Auto Evaluated Multiple Choice Questions

(b) Assignments

(c) Proctored Exam


At the end of the topic, a proctored quiz is conducted. This quiz is auto evaluated comprising of multiple choice and short answer (fill blanks) questions, about 10-20 questions covering the entire topic taught. The results of this quiz are captured and students performance in the topic in assessed.
